Usually waking up at 5am is a near impossibility but today I was up like a child on Christmas morning... it must be installation day!!!
I loaded up the van with the Smev cooker and a few other items that I'd asked Northern Rose Campervan Conversions if they would mind cutting/drilling some extra holes for me so that I can fit in:
It was a 212 mile journey to their units in South Milford (nr Leeds) and I arrived at at approx 10:30am and was immediately greeted by all of the team there. They were super friendly from the off and straight away got to grips with the extra bits I'd asked if they could do.
My units were already built waiting for me there and once I was happy with where everything was going they proceeded to dismantle the units in part so they could be easily installed into the back of the T5.
I wandered around asked a few questions, shot some video of their workshop and the installation process.
Whilst there I even had the pleasure of being taken out to a local cafe for a coffee and a pastie on what was a lovely sunny day, it also enabled me to leave the guys back at the workshop to crack on with what was needed without me breathing down their necks!
Their attention to detail and also to my needs was really impressive. I was struck that they went out just to make sure I had the right length screws for a particular fixing rather than just use some that were a few mm longer - This says a lot about their wanting to make sure everything is done well and not just to the customers satisfaction but also their own.
I was back on the road in no time with a smile like a Cheshire cat. The only problem was it was incredibly hard to drive home when I kept having to turn my head round to check out my amazing new units in the back of the van.
My main observations whilst with the team there were that they are finding their feet a little in regards to supply and demand. It sounded like they may soon stop offering installations and concentrate on providing delivered units either in flat-pack or assembled form. As is often the case there is a great need for supply and without a large warehouse for storage this can then cause tailbacks and effect business. A challenge that the team there spoke into and are keen to embrace as they continue to grow and gather more business.
I've done a review video (see below) which gives a much better feel for my experience whilst there, hope you enjoy it and find it helpful.
